General
Singles Happy Hour (SHH) is a social platform that organizes in-person happy hour events and mixers for singles in cities across the US. We curate events at great venues so you can meet new people in a fun, relaxed setting. No swiping, no algorithms -- just real events with real people.
No. Singles Happy Hour is not a dating app. We are an events platform. We organize and promote in-person social events for singles. Whether you are looking for romance, friendships, or just a great night out, our events create the space for genuine connections to happen naturally.
We are currently live in 20 cities across the US including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Austin, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, Nashville, Boston, and more. We are continuously expanding to new cities. Visit our About page to see the full list.
Events
Browse upcoming events in your city, pick one that matches your vibe, and RSVP. Events are hosted at curated venues like rooftop bars, wine lounges, and trendy restaurants. Just show up at the time and place listed, check in with the host, and enjoy the evening. Most events have 20-50 attendees to keep things social and intimate.
We host a variety of events including classic happy hours, themed mixers, wine tastings, speed dating nights, rooftop socials, brunch events, and more. Each event has a vibe tag so you can pick events that match your style, whether that is casual, upscale, or adventurous.
Each event listing includes a dress code or vibe description. Most happy hours are smart casual, but themed events may have specific guidelines. Check the event details for the recommended attire before you go.
If an event is full, you can join the waitlist. When someone cancels their RSVP, the next person on the waitlist gets bumped up automatically and notified. Members skip the waitlist entirely with priority RSVPs.
When you arrive, go to My Tickets in your dashboard to find your QR code. Show it to the host at the door and they will scan it to check you in. Your check-in counts toward your attendance streak.
Sparks & Connections
After attending an event, you can send up to 3 anonymous sparks to people you connected with. Your spark is completely anonymous until it is mutual. If they spark you back, both identities are revealed and you can start messaging each other directly.
When you and another attendee spark each other, it is a match! Both of your identities are revealed, you become connections, and you can start chatting directly through the Messages page. It is a low-pressure way to show interest.
You can send connection requests to people you met at events. If they accept, you become connections and can message each other. Browse the People You Met section on the Connections page to discover fellow attendees from recent events.
Spark hints are a member perk that let you preview attendees before events. They give you a subtle heads-up about who might be a good match, helping you focus your sparks on the people you are most interested in.
Membership
Members get access to exclusive events, discounted tickets for official events, priority RSVPs (no waitlists), access to event chat rooms to meet attendees before the event, and a verified member badge on their profile. It is the best way to get the most out of SHH.
Membership is $25 per month. This includes all member benefits across every city we operate in. There are no long-term contracts -- you can cancel anytime.
You can cancel your membership at any time from your Dashboard under the Membership section. When you cancel, you will retain your member benefits until the end of your current billing period. There are no cancellation fees.
Members get 2 guest passes per month. You can invite a friend to any event and they get the full member experience for the night -- priority entry, event chat access, and more. Passes reset at the start of each billing cycle.
Yes! Your membership works in every city SHH operates in. Just browse events in any city and RSVP. It is great for when you travel or want to explore the scene in a new city.
Hosting
If you are passionate about bringing people together and know great venues in your city, apply to become a Verified Host. Visit the Host Application page to submit your application. We will review it and get back to you within a few business days.
Hosts should be social, reliable, and have knowledge of great venues in their city. We look for people who can create a welcoming atmosphere and manage event logistics. Previous event hosting experience is a plus but not required.
Chat
Each event has a dedicated chat room where attendees who have RSVP'd can introduce themselves and chat before and after the event. It is a great way to break the ice and find people you want to connect with at the event.
Event chat rooms unlock 24 hours before the event start time for members. The chat stays active for 48 hours after the event ends, giving you time to exchange contact info with people you met. After that, the chat is archived.
Messaging & DMs
Once you and another member are connected (through mutual sparks or an accepted connection request), you can message each other directly. DMs are private, one-on-one conversations accessible from your Messages page.
When a new connection is accepted, you have 72 hours to send your first message. This keeps conversations timely and encourages you to reach out while the energy from the event is still fresh. Once either person sends a message, the timer clears and you can chat forever.
Event chat is a group chat for all attendees of a specific event. It opens 24 hours before the event and stays active 48 hours after. DMs are private one-on-one conversations between connected members that last as long as you want.
Fun Features
Fun conversation prompts that open 48 hours before events. Answer them and see how other attendees responded. It is the perfect way to find things in common and have conversation starters ready before you show up.
A this-or-that compatibility quiz. Answer quick preference questions and see your match percentage with other event attendees. The more questions you answer, the more accurate your compatibility scores become.
Daily community polls and debates. A new topic drops every day -- vote A or B, see how the community splits, and jump into the comments. Topics range from dating preferences to food debates to lifestyle choices.
Post-event photo galleries where attendees can upload photos, tag people they met, and leave reactions. The Memories wall opens about 24 hours after an event ends and is a fun way to relive great nights.
Streaks & Badges
Every time you check in at an event, your attendance counter goes up. Attend events in consecutive months to build a streak. Your streak and total events attended are displayed on your profile and in event attendee lists.
You earn badges at milestones: a bronze badge at 3 events, silver at 6 events, and gold at 12 or more events. Badges show up next to your name so other attendees can see you are a regular. Keep your streak going!
